PUMPKIN SEASON IN PARIS
Fall is my favorite season! It used to be summer until I discovered pumpkin-flavored… well, EVERYTHING! 😀 Seriously, if it has any pumpkin in it, I’ll gobble it up! I also feel the same about fall fashion – pumpkin or cinnamon colored sweaters, turmeric trousers, mustard or marigold maxis – LE SWOON! When it comes to sweaters, the chunkier and cozier, the better. When I was younger, I remember flipping through fashion mags and seeing fall runways filled with fabulous, tall models wearing menswear-inspired flowing, wide-leg trousers in all sorts of rich textures, paired with billowy blouses. I dreamed of dressing like them, but never thought I could pull it off (because I wasn’t tall enough, pretty enough, whatever enough…!). I imagined that one day I’d grow into one of those effortlessly chic, stylish women who could stroll around the magical city of lights, wearing all her fall feels on her sleeve (and legs!)…
Normally, if I wear really wide-leg or voluminous pants, I’ll wear something structured or tailored on top. This fall, I decided to take cozy to that next level of masculine-magazine-style-chic and pair volume with more volume! Oversized sweater PLUS balloon sleeves?! Bring it on! And add a pair of super long, drapey menswear trousers to boot! Not like this is a major fashion risk or novel idea – I mean, I have friends who have perfected the oversized-atop-oversized look as their daily go-to – but for me, it’s about adding one new trend (e.g. balloon sleeves) to an otherwise classic look each season and pushing my boundaries a little bit each year while staying true to my everyday personal style. At the end of the day, I want to feel confident and comfortable with what I’m wearing, and for me – that’s usually classic with a twist. This fall, you’ll probably find me living in oversized everything now that I’ve popped my cherry – ahem – pumpkin – in Paris 😉
Would love to hear what new trend or color you guys are trying this season? Comment below!
