YAY! Thanks for joining me on my colorful journey through West Hollywood! Next trip: Walls of Silver Lake!
If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know by now I “have this thing with walls” …and murals… and street art of all sorts! To say I’m obsessed is kind of an understatement! I spend a lot of time traveling between the east coast and west coast, so it’s no surprise that some of my favorite walls happen to be in sunny Los Angeles! I’m probably just one of a jillion people to find these colorful surprises amidst the palm trees and bougainvillea covered streets, but each time I see a new one my heart skips a beat! It’s as if I’ve stumbled upon some secret, magical world of sensory delights! Some of them are simple black and white graphic patterns, like some of my favorite uniforms 🙂 And others are vivid, intricate works of street art that no colorful outfit could compete with!
Besides sharing some of my favorite walls from my most recent trip to LA when I worked on a fall style feature with The Zoe Report and Rachel Zoe Studio (read more here!), I also wanted to showcase some of my favorite blogs and bloggers that put my attempts at shooting on walls to utter shame!
If you’re not already following street art/style darlings Jennifer Lake of Style Charade and Rosie Clayton, you’re truly missing out on some brilliant editorial photography and fashion! Think the accessibly chic street art version of the high-end fashion and art world’s Pari Dust (another icon of mine who has an ingenious talent for turning fashion into wearable art and vice-versa!). Their work features mostly Chicago murals and street art, but they also occasionally take us on their whimsical adventures where they showcase a world full of color and beauty. Even the most jaded viewer would be floored by the thought and creativity they put into their work – and how much fun they make it seem! Not to mention these girls are absolute SWEETHEARTS! They’ve basically achieved the “influencer” trifecta: beautiful fashion sense, keen eye for creativity, and spreading cheer around the virtual world with their sweet smiles and encouraging words for fans and friends alike!
Finally… if you want all the nitty-gritty and details on where to find some of the most Instagram-worthy street art spots in LA, check out this article on Racked for more info. on these amaaaaazing walls!
